Shake & Stir Returns to Southbourne in 22!

Shake & Stir Festival is returning to Fisherman’s Walk in Southbourne on the 25th and 26th of June. The popular annual festival features vintage fashion, local traders and live music playing the sounds of the 1920s, 1970s and everything in between. This year, the celebration will also be raising money for the Friends of Fisherman’s Walk.

Shake & Stir Festival has delighted visitors for almost a decade, attracting 22,000 people last year. The festival’s popularity is thanks in part, to the range and quality of the live music, vintage themed workshops and classic car displays. Perfect for vintage lovers, families, holidaymakers and locals alike, the Shake & Stir Festival will showcase musical highlights including Swing Unlimited Big Band, Phil Halley and The Comments, Be Bop A Lula – Gene Vincent Tribute, Andy Kennet as Elvis and Andy Shailer – Crazy Rhythm Jukebox in the DJ vinyl booth with MR D DJ Dave Norrell as MC extraordinaire on the band stand.

Mandy Polkey, Managing Director of Stir Events who has organised this year’s event, commented: “Community is such a massive part of Shake & Stir, it’s the heritage and origin of the festival, so I’m really excited to see the vintage lovers and local community celebrating together.”

The Best Dressed Vintage King and Queen Competition also returns, sponsored this year by The Grove Tavern, and The Show and Shine Car Show will be sponsored by Bournemouth Mortgages. Both days will include a vintage fashion show with Mickey and Minnie – characters from Little Gizmos for the children as well as face painting, fair rides, and stalls.

The much-anticipated Greatest Bartender live final will take place on Sunday afternoon, sponsored by BAHA and supported by the Wonky Table, the competition will see the top three finalists creating their very own cocktails in front of a live audience.

“With live music stages and over 80 local and artisan traders getting involved through performances and stalls, it will be the fabulous, fun-filled weekend we know and love.”
