Poole Gets set to Go Vintage

Poole’s getting ready to get its glad rags on with the Poole Goes Vintage event coming to Poole Quay on the 9th and 10th July. Featuring vintage traders and live music playing the sounds of the 1940s, 1960s and everything in between, the event is a must for locals and visitors alike. This year, the celebration of all things vintage will be managed by Stir Events in partnership with BCP Council with funding from Festival Coast Live.

The vintage festival will be showcasing a broad range and quality of live music, vintage themed workshops and classic car displays. Perfect for vintage lovers, families, holidaymakers and locals, Poole Goes Vintage will include performances from fan favourites, Rhythm Slicks, Rockin The Joint, Little Dave, Retro Rita, The Sun Sessions and DJ Mr D with Retro Grooves spinning the disks at the vinyl booth. Vintage party-lovers can attend the Friday night Vintage Party at Poole Quay Hotel, featuring Miss Annie and The Midnight Shift along with Mr D! DJ Dave Norrell with tickets available through Eventbrite.

Mandy Polkey, Managing Director of Stir Events, commented: “We’re really looking forward to hosting this vintage spectacular on Poole Quay this July, it’s such a wonderful opportunity for locals, visitors, and the business community to come together and celebrate Poole and all things vintage, a great day out for everyone.”

Attendees can enjoy lessons from Jitterbug Jive and the Bournemouth Lindy Hop Club with a Vintage Fashion Show hosted across both days. The family friendly event boasts fairground rides, stalls and face painting for children as well as vintage traders selling vintage clothing, jewellery and gifts. Motor enthusiasts can enjoy the Classic Car Exhibition and Show and Shine Competition with cars managed by South Coast Cruisers.

“Everyone’s encouraged to get involved, have fun, get dancing, and even dress up, there’s even a competition and a prize for the Best Dressed Vintage King and Queen, and we can’t wait to see everyone Lindy Hopping and looking their best”
